Annie Duke

Annie Duke was born on September 13, 1965 in Concord, New
Hampshire. She came from an academic background. Her
father, Richard Lederer, was a writer and linguist who taught at
Saint Paul's Prep School in New Hampshire. Annie went to
Columbia University where she double majored in English and
Psychology.

Her intention was to become a professor but she left school in
1992, after five years of graduate school and one month
before defending her Ph.D. work. She left academia to pursue
family life with her husband, Ben Duke, and moved to Billings,
Montana.

In 1994, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas in support
of her decision to start playing poker full time.
On September 2, 2004, this  mother of four, beat her older brother and eight other poker
legends to win $2 million and the first-ever World Series of Poker Tournament of
Champions. In establishing this winner-take-all invitational tournament, Harrah's, which
owns the World Series of Poker, set out to determine the world's best poker player and
televise it in a nearly three-hour broadcast that aired a number of times on ESPN and
continues to draw large numbers of viewers whenever it plays.

Annie Duke knocked out her brother, Howard Lederer, and former World Series of Poker
champion Phil Hellmuth to take the title, after being on the verge of elimination for much of
the event. The tournament included former World Series of Poker champions Doyle
Brunson, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth and Greg Raymer.

As of 2004, Annie Duke has won one World Series of Poker bracelet and more than $2.8
million in tournament play. She has been a spokesperson for UltimateBet since 2000 and
has written many articles for them, mainly on Omaha hold'em. She has several nicknames
including "Annie Legend", "The Duke", and "The Duchess of Poker"

In 2003 she moved to Portland, Oregon to work for ieLogic, a company that produces
software for online real time casino gaming. Although ieLogic has since moved to Canada,
she still resides in Portland with her husband and four children.
Kathy Liebert

Kathy Liebert was born in Tennessee and grew up on
Long Island in New York. She attended Marist College
in Poughkeepsie where she earned a bachelors degree
in business and finance. She was hired by Dun &
Bradstreet, but left after she was unhappy with
corporate life. Successful stock investments allowed her
to quit her job and travel the country.

Kathy began her poker history with a brief stint as a
prop player. She started playing tournaments in 1994.

Her biggest win so far was a $1,000,000 pay-off, and
although she split it with Berj Kacherian and Phil
Hellmuth Jr., she is still the first woman to win a million
dollar tournament prize.
She is ranked in the top 10 of the WSOP top women money winners, and as well as her
million dollar win she has won a WSOP bracelet, took first place in the Winning of the Green
No-Limit Hold’em tournament in 2003, and second place in 2003 at the WSOP Limit Hold’em
tournament.

Ranked third for women on the all time money list at the World Series, Liebert, in her mid-
thirties, is a no-nonsense, business-like professional. She could easily be mistaken for the
executive she once was before “discarding” the corporate world for the world of cards. She still
invests in the stock market, which gives her a safety net from the swings of tournament
poker.

In March 2005 Kathy Liebert was handed over the $130,000 prize as she won GSN's 'POKER
ROYALE: BATTLE OF THE SEXES'   Poker Tournament,  beating the men who had dominated
the contest until then. Settling the debate in the final episode, Liebert skillfully played her
way around top poker players Amir Vahedi, Layne Flack and Antonio Esfandiari.
Jennifer Harmon

Jennifer Harmon was born in Reno, Nevada. She graduated
college from the University of Reno with a degree in biology.

Jennifer learned the game of poker at the age of 8 when
her dad and his friends used to play at their house, and she
always watched. Jennifer started her poker career in her
teens after a brief
stint as a cocktail waitress. One of her stations was the
casino poker room, so she would shed her waitress attire
and adjourn to the tables after work until poker became her
primary income.

Most of her earnings are made playing $3,000-$6,000
live-action games at the Bellagio in Las Vegas
At 5 feet 2 inches tall and barely 100 pounds, Jennifer isn’t exactly the most intimidating poker
player you’ll ever come across, but she is one of the best poker players in the world. She’s a
regular at the biggest poker game in the world at Las Vegas’ Bellagio, and recently won the
largest pot in history in a “cash” game at a major casino (i.e.non-tournament), $1.7 million.

She also has two world championships to her credit—the only woman to do so. Harman was one
of the last two pro players at the World Poker Tour’s final table in Aruba last year. A regular on
the World Poker Tour, she is one of a handful of professionals who will play the entire 13-
tournament circuit. She was one of six featured women to star in the World Poker Tours’
“Ladies’ Night” show on The Travel Channel.

Jennifer  is married to superstar Italian hairdresser Marco Traniello, and they live in Las Vegas.
When not playing poker she likes to stay home playing with her dogs, go to movies, and hang
out with friends
