Dave Ulliott "Devilfish"
Dave Ulliott was born on January 4, 1954 in Hull, North
Humberside, United Kingdom
He got the nickname “Devil Fish” while playing in a
tournament against Men “The Master” Nguyrn. Men gave
him the nickname because David Ulliot reminded him of
the poisonous fish: edible when prepared meticulously,
but otherwise it will kill you.
He is one of the most feared and respected players on
the World Poker Tour and one of the few non-Americans
to win a World Championship event. He became
recognizable to World Poker Tour audiences when he
captured first place in season one’s World Poker Open at
the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Mississippi
David is a former jeweler and pawn broker. He started playing cards at the age of 14
and poker at the age of 18. He got so good playing poker at his local games that he
ran out of players to compete against. Apparently nobody wants to play against you
when you win all the time. Since David couldn’t find a game, he moved on to playing
high stakes tournaments.
His favorite game is Pot limit Omaha high because he says “you have such a big
advantage over other players who think they can play the game.”
Ulliott is a spokesman for online poker site Ultimate Bet. He resides with his wife in
Hull, EnglandWhen not playing poker, he enjoys doing Elvis impersonations
